A Ramshackle Theatre and Yukon Arts Centre co-production

In the fall of 2025 Ramshackle Theatre began stockpiling cardboard boxes. We went to the local grocery store every day for weeks and took the free boxes. We raided the dumpster at Mark’s Work Warehouse and the Brick. Then we invited a group of visual artists to help build a cardboard city. The artists camped out in the Yukon Arts Centre studio and built buildings and assembled the city on the theatre stage. Simultaneously we brought a small troupe of dancers together and the hybrid tale of Atlantis was born.

On the Planet Bezos cardboard is outlawed. In an act of defiance a group of rebel citizens run an underground art warehouse and, with the help of the audience, build the cardboard city of Atlantis. It’s all fun and games until the bad guys discover their illegal cardboard city.

Part fable, part cardboard building workshop, Atlantis is full of intrigue and so much cardboard chaos!

Atlantis on tour

Atlantis is an all-ages community based cardboard event! Sourcing the cardboard locally we work with your organization and host cardboard building workshops for all ages where the participants add to the city. The workshops engage the community, activate theatre spaces and build an audience for the show.

We are a company of four on tour. We are booking engagements for the 2027-28 season and beyond.
